Amid very poor snow conditions through the vast majority of Alberta, the Pigeon Lake Sled Dog Classic race will be held as scheduled on February 18 and 19. The race trail is in pretty good condition and race organizers have been using manure spreaders to relocate snow onto the trail where required. Signage is in place to assist with locating the race site but mushers should remember that check-in will take place at the Alberta 4-H Centre (see Area Maps). An added feature this year is the Horse Skijoring Class (see the Schedule).

Welcome to the Pigeon Lake Sled Dog Club Website, Host of the Pigeon Lake Sled Dog Classic.

This Classic Race is promoted as a Fun Race, where new Mushers can mingle, learn and race along side the more seasoned veteran Mushers.

The Pigeon Lake Sled Dog Race, as it was known in the beginning, was started in March 2007. It has continued to be a great success over the years, thanks to the Dedication of many volunteers and Sponsors.

While in attendance at the Race you will see the beautiful traditional Siberian Huskys, Malamutes and the cross bred hounds known as Alaskan Huskys, thoroughbreds of the Sled Dog World.

Come join the barking howling excitment from start to finish as these athletic dogs & their Mushers do what they love best.
